Most of us are taught to understand our struggles, relationships, and life circumstances primarily as individual experiences. This workshop series invites participants to explore a broader perspective: how social, cultural, economic, and political systems shape the ways we think, feel, relate, cope, and make meaning.
Through guided discussion, reflection, experiential exercises, and community learning, participants will examine the connections between personal experience and larger social forces while developing greater self-awareness, compassion, agency, and intentionality.
Topics Covered:
• Understanding how social systems shape personal experience
• Identifying structural pressures and internalized messages
• Exploring survival strategies and adaptive roles
• Reframing distress through a structural lens
• Examining recurring patterns in relationships and connection
• Understanding the relationship between personal experience and social systems
• Exploring different ways people contribute to community and social change
• Identifying values-aligned forms of engagement and action
• Building sustainable approaches to participation and advocacy
• Creating a personal vision for continued growth, contribution, and change
This is a facilitated discussion and learning group. The focus is on education, reflection, dialogue, experiential learning, and skill-building in community with others. Participants are invited to deepen their understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the systems that shape their lives while exploring meaningful pathways toward personal and collective change.
